Coming here and posting whether it is asking for help or helping others really secured my quit.
I will be celebrating my first smoke free birthday in 20 years this Sunday, and my one year smoke free anniversary is less than two months away! It's the support from everybody here that is allowing me to reach these milestones. For anybody out there struggling with their quit, trust me, being smoke free is wonderful! And the SSC is the best place to receive support!
This site will give you all the support and advice you need to get through, you just need to use it and stick around. So many of us attribute our success to this site. You have a difficult road ahead of you, but you can do it with your will and our help.
Thank you to all of you - you've helped me so very much to get where I am in my quit. I know I could never have done it without you. I'm still "doing it" and have a feeling I'm going to be needing you all for quite some time as I travel this slippery slope.
Perhaps the most important thing I learnt was that the support of others was invaluable in quitting - and that by reading and posting here, supporting and being supported, the journey was easier… I would like to thank just about everyone here in SSC for my quit.
